The nature of ptossing isn't really conducive to great photo ops I'm starting to realize. If you google parkour, you'll see millions of pictures. The simplest moves--a lazy vault for instance--looks sweet as hell in pictures. It's just a cool-looking art. With ptossing, you have either do something extraordinary (iron cross, handstand on a telephone wire) to get a good shot. I've been racking my brain trying to think of ideas for great photos. It would be easier if I can a quality camera that could take action pics, but I have to settle for my digital and focus on getting good angles of normal exercises so they look, well, not so dumb. That's what this is about. A couple of ways I've found to get good photos of ptossing.
Demanding Isometrics
These don't require a camera capable of handling motion. Plus, the harder isometric holds are sweet looking no matter what, so these are always good choices.
Weird Angles/Lighting
You can enhance some of the lamest moves by getting them from a weird angle or messing with lighting. For some reason, pictures of pushups from a low level seem to look awesome. Same stupid, boring exercise, different look. The same rule applies with lighting--catch a silhouette shot of you doing anything at all and it will be instantly coolified.
Action Shots
If you have the capability, this is probably your best bet. Think about this: a lot of sweet pics are of people in the air--parkour, snowboarding, skateboarding, karate, whatever. You don't even have to land it. You could die after jumping off a cliff with a snowboard strapped to your feet but if you look cool doing it and someone gets a pic, no one has to know.
Sweat
This is probably the only other image that could possibly look awesome. If you're sweating ropes. Usually, this works best if you get face shots (better yet to do it while contorted in pain) or while doing moves. Sweat is always awesome.
These are just a few ways you can make your pics look more badass. If you have more ideas, feel free to comment.
